When Public Schools Welcome Outside Influence: Why Now Is the Time to Teach Your Children God’s Way at Home
A December 4, 2025, vote in the U.S. House of Representatives sent shockwaves through many American households. A bill designed to crack down on foreign influence in American schools — specifically influence that could shape curriculum, messaging, and the worldview being fed to our children — was rejected overwhelmingly by House Democrats.
For parents who have been paying attention, this was not just another political headline. It was a warning.
When lawmakers refuse to protect the integrity of our classrooms, when they shrug off attempts to shield children from outside manipulation, and when they openly oppose efforts to preserve America’s educational sovereignty, it should force every parent — especially Christian parents — to stop and ask:
If they won’t protect our schools, why are we still sending our children into them?
This vote may feel like yet another sign of a system drifting further from truth, morality, and wisdom. For families committed to raising their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord, it is yet another compelling reason to step away from the public school system and take back the responsibility God gave us from the beginning: to teach our children His way.
1. If Schools Can Be Influenced by Foreign Interests, What Else Can Influence Them?
For decades, parents assumed public schools were at least safe from overt outside manipulation. But this vote reveals something uncomfortable:
There is no guarantee that the ideas shaping your child’s worldview originate from America, from truth, or from values aligned with your family.
Foreign influence in education is not hypothetical. Globally, governments and organizations use schools as pipelines for ideology, recruitment, and worldview formation. If Congress refuses to close those doors, those doors remain open.
And here’s the deeper concern:
If foreign influence is not treated as a threat, public officials are signaling that they have other priorities — and your child’s moral safety is not one of them.
When the system shows you what matters to them, believe them.
2. Public Schools Are Already Spiritually and Morally Unstable
Even without foreign influence, our public schools have been drifting for years:
God has been removed from classrooms.
Biblical morality has been replaced with secular relativism.
National pride is often dismissed or condemned.
The distinction between truth and opinion has been blurred.
Children are exposed to adult themes far too early.
Teachers are pressured to teach ideology instead of academics.
Now add the possibility of outside influence, unmonitored and unchallenged, and you have a perfect storm.
A spiritually empty system is the easiest system to infiltrate.
A child grounded in truth can discern lies.
A public school system grounded in nothing cannot.
3. A School That Won’t Protect Your Child’s Mind Cannot Guide Their Heart
The Christian parent must face a sobering reality:
You cannot outsource discipleship.
If a school:
refuses to guard curriculum
refuses to guard worldview
refuses to guard influence
refuses to guard moral boundaries
…then it cannot be trusted with forming the heart of a child.
God never asked the government to disciple our children. That calling was given to parents:
“Train up a child in the way he should go…”
— Proverbs 22:6
When we hand our children to a system that openly welcomes influences we would never allow in our homes, we cannot be surprised when their values begin to drift.
Public education is no longer a neutral environment. It is a contested space — spiritually, morally, and culturally. And your child’s soul is too precious to gamble with.
4. Homeschooling Gives You the Ability to Teach Truth Without Compromise
Parents are waking up to the reality that public school is no longer a safe default. The news cycle is merely confirming what many have felt in their spirit for years.
Homeschooling isn’t simply an academic choice — it is a spiritual rescue mission.
When you teach your children at home:
You choose what influences shape their worldview.
You decide which voices they hear and which ones they do not.
You anchor education in Scripture, truth, and moral clarity.
You protect their innocence without apology.
You integrate faith into every subject — not just Sunday mornings.
Most importantly:
You fulfill God’s design for parent-led discipleship.
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 gives very specific instructions:
“These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…”
Not the state.
Not the school board.
Not a teacher influenced by curriculum you never approved.
You.
Homeschooling allows you to obey God fully in the education of your child.
5. In a Time of Global Chaos, Parents Must Become the Gatekeepers of Their Children’s Minds
Foreign influence in schools is not just a political concern—it is a spiritual one.
The enemy has always sought influence through education.
The enemy has always tried to shape the minds of children before the parents even realize what happened.
Today’s world is a battlefield of ideas, and children are the targets. The public school system is now vulnerable not only to domestic agendas but to foreign ideologies that do not share:
our values
our faith
our patriotism
our understanding of truth
our commitment to children’s innocence
This is not the time to be passive.
When Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem, he told the families to stand guard with a tool in one hand and a weapon in the other. He understood that spiritual enemies and foreign enemies often work the same way—by slipping through the unguarded gates.
Modern parents must guard the gates of their homes — and homeschooling is a powerful way to do it.
6. Parents Who Homeschool Are Not Retreating — They Are Advancing
Taking your children out of public school is not fear-driven. It is wisdom-driven. It is stewardship. It is obedience.
You are not abandoning society.
You are strengthening the next generation.
Homeschooling parents are not withdrawing from the world.
They are preparing their children to one day lead it — anchored in truth, equipped with discernment, and unshaken by deception.
The public school system may welcome outside influence.
But your home does not have to.
When you choose to teach your children God’s way:
You protect their mind.
You nurture their heart.
You strengthen their identity.
You ground them in Scripture.
You raise them to be world-changers, not world-conformers.
And ultimately:
You fulfill your calling as the primary educator and spiritual guide God designed you to be.
A Final Word
The vote against cracking down on foreign influence is not an isolated issue — it is another indicator that public schools are no longer safe, stable, or spiritually aligned with Biblical truth.
But you are not powerless.
You can choose a different path for your children — one where God is at the center, truth is non-negotiable, and influence is intentional.
Homeschooling is not just an option.
For many families today, it is an act of spiritual protection and obedience.
Teaching your children God’s way is the surest safeguard you can offer them in a world that is growing darker by the day.
